A lively, bustling town, Anneyron has about 3,505 inhabitants and has made a happy marriage between rural and industrial life, the present and the past. Birthplace of the Marquis d'Arlandes, friend of the Montgolfier brothers, a fresco in the heart of the village relates how this local pioneer took part in the first hot-air balloon flight in 1783.
